Part 3 - Competency Assessment

The link below offers access the competency assessment. It contains six question sets about the competencies or knowledge and skills you must have as a Canadian physiotherapist assistant providing care to clients and their families. The questions are based on the document Essential Competency Profile for Physiotherapist Assistants in Canada (April 2012), prepared in partnership with the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators, the Canadian Council of Physiotherapy University Programs, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Physiotherapy Education Accreditation Canada.

The regulatory colleges for physiotherapists in the provinces and territories of Canada provide online information about provincial guidelines for physiotherapist assistant practice that are specific to their jurisdictions. You may wish to consult this website as you proceed through this section of the tool: The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapist Regulators www.alliancept.org.
